I don’t usually make posts of this nature, but this affected me deeply. I’m sorry about the terrible quality of this, but I can’t fathom how something like this could happen in such cold blood.
These are images of three people who were murdered in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. When I say people, I mean humans, and by humans I infer that they have the human right to life.
Now, Deah Shaddy Barakat, 23, his wife Yusor Mohammad, 21, and her sister Razan Mohammad Abu-Salha, 19 were shot dead in their own home on Tuesday evening.
Why? It’s obvious, isn’t it? They are muslim. Innocent people. But, MUSLIM. I hate to be so forthright about it. But, I am muslim. I may not wear the hijab, but my mother and my sisters do. Imagine this was your family. Innocent people getting murdered because of their race or religion is, to me, the most coldest form of murder. Why? Because your intention is to kill an entire group of people, but can do it only on a smaller scale. They weren’t even considered human, THEY WERE CONSIDERED TO BE A RELIGION. #muslimlivesmatter
May they rest in eternal peace. (Allah yerhamoon) They did not deserve this untimely end. Each of them had a promising career ahead of them, and they were people who gave to charity, immensely.
Mr Barakat, as described by the telegraph.co.uk: Barakat was a charitable individual and in his last Facebook post, he shared a picture saying: “Tonight we provided free dental supplies and food to over 75 homeless people in downtown Durham.”
So I ask of everyone on this site, please don’t forget these people. Boost this post because their charitable efforts NEED to be recognised.
Please donate to Mr Barakat’s charity: Syrian Dental Relief Even if you donate $5, every contribution counts. I am aware the goal has been reached, but just imagine all of the refugees that’ll have brighter smiles due to your donations.
Every human life matters. Whether you are black, brown, white, asian, etc or whether you follow Islam, Christianity, Judaism, etc. It does not matter. LIFE IS LIFE.
Yet again, I’m sorry I have not been able to do the victims justice on this post. But I hope their work lives on.
Though a number of online publications have picked up and covered the Chapel Hill shooting story by Wednesday, most mainstream media organizations seem to have ignored it. Considering the 24-hour news cycle and how
quickly most news is disseminated, the slow speed with which the news
broke points to a troubling double standard.
The Chapel Hill shooting is terrorism. It’s a hate crime. It’s the exact same thing that ISIS does. But will mainstream media outlets label it as such? Probably not.
And, as with the bombing of the NAACP building in Colorado last month, people are hearing about this through Twitter 10 hours later instead of through a single news outlet.
The massive downside to meaningful action on climate change is that if global warming is false were left with a clean environment and a sustainable economic model. What a bummer

“For me, the computer is more than a tool for making art. It is a collaborator and a muse. The natural world’s place in this Digital Age is a source of contemplation for me, and my work reflects this. Ultimately, I believe, that technology is nature, and the division between the two will decay as this century progresses.”
